Finally I got Gnome install successfully, but when I start Gnome or select (Application→Sound & Video→ Volume Control), it shows me a error window :
No volume control elements and/or devices found. Actually, my sound chip is intergrated into VIA 82C686B. |

It's part of the alsa-utils package. Did you install and configure alsa properly? Have you had a look at the alsa-guide? |

Ok, I am sorry about that I haven't installed. However, I discoverd that I forgot to put the via sound chip driver into kernel's support. After recompiled and loaded the new kernel, my volume control/sound device is working perfect now. Thanks for your help. |
