There are no changes to the install process but mounting root from a USB drive needs some care.
You will need to make your own kernel - genkernel will not work
You must build in SCSI disk support, correct USB support and usb-storage support.
The last twist is that root is normally mounted before USB is initialised. You will need the parameter rootdelay=N on the kernel line in grub, when N is the number of seconds to delay before mounting root.
Seaching for rootdelay will probably turn something up, there have been a number of posts on installing and booting from USB drives. _________________ Regards,
