I just did an emerge -u world after about a year to eighteen months running with a reasonable stable config. Doing the emerge world casue the usually hickups but nothing major that couldn't be fixed. I'm down to one error that I'm getting that I don't know how to fix and can't find anything in the fourms or the bugs postings.
When the system updated logwatch 6.0.2 was installed. When emerge tried to remove the version 4.3.2 it gets the following errors
Code: |
sys-apps/logwatch
selected: 4.3.2
protected: none
omitted: none
>>> 'Selected' packages are slated for removal.
>>> 'Protected' and 'omitted' packages will not be removed.
>>> Waiting 5 seconds before starting...
>>> (Control-C to abort)...
>>> Unmerging in: 5 4 3 2 1
>>> Unmerging sys-apps/logwatch-4.3.2...
No package files given... Grabbing a set.
/var/db/pkg/sys-apps/logwatch-4.3.2/logwatch-4.3.2.ebuild: line 56: unexpected EOF while looking for matching `"'
/var/db/pkg/sys-apps/logwatch-4.3.2/logwatch-4.3.2.ebuild: line 59: syntax error: unexpected end of file

Hi.
I'm having this same problem right now... same versions and everything.
Did you find a fix?
Would appreciate any pointers you may have picked up.

Moved from Networking & Security to Duplicate Threads in favour of the FAQ GF19: Emerge fails to unmerge a package. _________________ Please read our FAQ Forum, it answers many of your questions.
