well, everything went fine until i tried to drag the gnome-panel around, the mouse sort of froze and i couldn't do anything with the keyboard either. so i killed the xserver with strg+alt+backspace, tried to restart it and now it hangs when trying to start metacity. this only happens when i login with the useraccount i killed the server with, when i login via root, gnome starts up fine, it also does when i start gnome failsave with my user acc.
has anybody got a clue what i can do to fix this? i tried to reemerge metacity and delete ~/.metacity and user related files in /tmp, but nothings changed... _________________ "Death is but perchance to dream." |

Try to delete your users' gnome config files as well, i.e. the following dirs: ~/.gnome* ~/.gconf*
Just a guess, don't know if it'll actually work, though... |
