|
|
Hi all,
I emerged Xorg-X11 followed by the starter package of KDE. Both have been successfully compiled. When I do a startx, X-11 starts up (actually is gives me a mouse not found error, af which I found a solution in the threads below). I want kde to start up instead of X-11. What do I do? I'm a bit scared to remove x-11 because I noticed that kde used a lot of X-11 libraries. Is there any way to switch envoirnments to kde, without having to remove x-11?
Thanks,

Mate,
I keep getting this error when I type startx:
Code: | could not start kmserver. Check your installation |
This is at the KDE initialization screen. What is km server? _________________ DFI LP NF4, 512 x 2 Corsair BH5, DC-Opty 165@2.7GHz, XFX 6800GS, 1 x IDE, 1 x SATA. |

Did this fix it? No response from the person who posted the error?

I don't think it's the same problem. Try to look at
file under the home of the user you start x with. |
