Hello,
I am having a problem with my internet. I've looked around this forum, and I didn't see any good solutions. When I boot up Gentoo, it says, "eth0 does not exist". I emerged coldplug, but that didn't work. I was very confused on which to include on the kernel config. Plus I tried editing my config file, but alas, no luck. Could someone please help?
Thanks in advance,
Dalton
P.S. I have an NVIDIA NForce2 ethernet controller.

I would do an lspci and find you ethernet controller, as I don't quite believe nforce2 is it. |

It mentions "NVIDIA Corperation nForce Ethernet Controller (rev a1)". |

Hei there!
follow the gentoo guid for the kernel, http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?part=1&chap=7
Then, I think I might found your card in kernel 2..6.12-r6 (I am not sure, but you can try newer):
Code: |
Ethernet (10 or 100Mbit) --->
EISA, VLB, PCI and on board controllers --->
Reverse Engineered nForce Ethernet support (EXPERIMENTAL) (NEW)
|
I myself use Intel card 1000Mb, so I never seen nvidia ethernet card before.
Hope it helps.
