WintTV sound problem

I have WinTV Go! TV-card that works properly on WinXP. On Gentoo I have installed TVTime, and the card works almost properly. The problem is a short hiss every now and then. Picture quality seems also to be slightly poorer than on Windows, but finetuning doesn't help.

The hiss is not constant, and has not occurred on any other programs. The problem cannot be solved reducing master volume or other volumes. I used genkernel to compile 2.6 kernel, and have AMD Athlon.

It would be nice if somebody knew how to solve the problem so that I could stop using WinXP - it works only as TV.
