It's aintegrated chipset from ati used in some laptops...

It works fine with the vesa driver. It is supposed to have better support in XFree 4.3.0, which I have installed. If you run:
It actually will detect the card correctly and will use the vesa driver. The radeon driver works, however it does not seem to offer any acceleration and in fact it draws windows pretty slowly on my laptop so I use the vesa driver for now.

I usd that, but in fact I hope to have my hardware aceleration working asap or I'll get used to XP 
BTW how does a laoptop with this chipset perform? does shared memory have grat impact?? |

I share 64MB of memory for this chipset, and everything runs well for me. The 2D performance of the vesa driver is fine, but if you try any GL screensavers you'll see that the 3D support is pretty bad 
Unfortunately the radeon driver doesn't seem to offer any acceleration. It only works for me with the noaccel option set. And with that, not only is the 3D performance just as bad, the 2D performance is horrible. I was looking forward to support for this chipset in X 4.3.0, maybe there is a way to configure it somehow but if there is I haven't found it yet.
