The driver module loads into the kernel (tried GENTOO-SOURCES 2.6.12-r10 and 2.6.13-r1 to r3 with GCC 3.4.4-r1) when the adapter is plugged in ... but:
Code: | usb 2-2: USB disconnect, address 2
ohci_hcd 0000:00:02.0: wakeup
usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 3
bcm203x_probe: Mini driver request failed
bcm203x: probe of 2-2:1.0 failed with error -5

I stopped using Gentoo earlier this year (with the adapter working!), and reinstalled a few days ago, and it does'nt work, but don't have a clue whats wrong. The only thing i found out, that the firmware could be in the wrong place (the two .hex and.bin files), but that information came from an Ubuntu-Forum.
Kernel ist configured as proposed in the Gentoo-Forums. A Code: | cat /etc/hotplug/firmware.agent | fgrep FIRMWARE_DIR | gives me Code: | FIRMWARE_DIR=/lib/firmware | and thats where the firmware files are.
Help, anybody?!
