I can't find the gentoo-sources 2.6 kernel
I tried searching through emerge and tried keywords...
I need an x86 platform (sempron, but using athlon xp)
any suggestions? _________________ I have nothing witty or brilliant to put here... /tear

ofeet,
Code: | emerge gentoo-sources | will get you a 2.6.xx kernel unless you have a profile ending in 2.4
What does Code: | ls -l /etc/make.profile | tell you?
Code: | $ ls -l /etc/make.profile
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 48 Apr 8 18:02 /etc/make.profile -> ../usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/2005.0 | gets a 2.6 kernel
Code: | $ ls -l /etc/make.profile
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 48 Apr 8 18:02 /etc/make.profile -> ../usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/2005.0/2.4 | gets you a 2.4 kernel. _________________ Regards,

booya, okay that worked. thanks a ton.
I wasn't familiar with this whole setup since they added this to the handbook since last time I installed gentoo.
it's nice to have experienced users around. _________________ I have nothing witty or brilliant to put here... /tear |
