I'm wondering, is there any software that lets me create an mpeg file with several smaller mpeg files embedded into it?
I'm talking about making an animated dvd menu with animated chapter selection (once i figure out how to do that bit, that is )
I know how to do this manually, but it would take ages of time to do it.... (make a frame, resize the other mpeg files, save them as frames, make one big frame with frames of the smallers pasted into it,. repeat afew hunderd times... merge frames back into an mpeg file) |

Do all the mpeg files have the same size? In that case i think you can just cat them together to a larger file. |

No no no, that's not what i meant, i'm trying to generate one big file that shows several smaller files being played back simultanious.
Sort of like picture in picture, just take a commercial dvd & look at the chapter menu, most of the time these are moving fragments of said chapter |

I'm sure you could do this with a bash script using imagemagick and mjpegtools. |

Probably, would've prefered a GUI based app tho, but i don't know any app (linux or windows) that does this |

What about DVDAuthorWizard. It's a KDE kommander app. When I tried it it was too limited in the number of menu items available for my purposes. It has been updated since though... |
