[solved] Gentoo on USB stick?

Hello everyone,

This may sound a little weird but I'm currently toying with the idea to install a minimal Gentoo system on a 1 GiByte USB memory storage device. Is that technically even possible (thinking of partitioning, swap, etc.)? And would I actually have the chance to install KDE on it?
I've heard of some linux spin-offs which are specifically designed to be installed on e.g. USB sticks and take up little space. Yet, I'd love to see Gentoo on my USB stick (just because I like it ;-)

), derivations of $ANY_OTHER_DISTRIBUTION are only my second choice.
