There's also been some talk of a USB bug causing problems with PPC sleep, if you have any USB devices, unplug them before sleep.

I have no usb devices attached ... but USB support is compiled in the kernel, maybe I need to do it as modules and unload them ?

dmesg reports radeonfb, I've checked this already earlier. I got both in kernel as when I made kernel setup ppc was quite new to me so I wasn't sure what to put into kernel so there are some stuff that might not be needed. I have USB in kernel and use usb mouse, it is also pulugged in when goig to sleep. Atleas that usb mouse dosen't give any problems with sleep.

For reference, here's my dmesg | radeonfb

Code:
~ $ dmesg | grep radeonfb
radeonfb (0000:00:10.0): Invalid ROM signature 0 should be0xaa55
radeonfb: Retreived PLL infos from Open Firmware
radeonfb: Reference=27.00 MHz (RefDiv=12) Memory=183.00 Mhz, System=210.00 MHz
radeonfb: PLL min 12000 max 35000
radeonfb: Monitor 1 type LCD found
radeonfb: EDID probed
radeonfb: Monitor 2 type no found
radeonfb: Using Firmware dividers 0x00020074 from PPLL 0
radeonfb: Dynamic Clock Power Management enabled
radeonfb (0000:00:10.0): ATI Radeon NV
radeonfb (0000:00:10.0): suspending to state: 3...
radeonfb (0000:00:10.0): resuming from state: 3...

This is all really strange. I even have exactly the same in dmesg about radeonfb.
Anyone has any idea what's wrong ?

One interesting thing I notice is that you get:

Code:
radeonfb (0000:00:10.0): suspending to state: 3...
radeonfb (0000:00:10.0): resuming from state: 3...

while I get:

Code:
Oct 23 22:45:34 ibook radeonfb (0000:00:10.0): suspending to state: 2...
Oct 23 22:45:34 ibook radeonfb (0000:00:10.0): resuming from state: 2...

Maybe that state 2/3 is the issue ?

OK, now sleep works with pbbuttonds - so that's some progress.
It does not work however with echo mem > /sys/power/state - which should be ok as far as I know...

anyone using 2.6.15-rcX kernels? Sleep doesn't worf for me anymore since using newer than 2.6.14 kernel. The problem is USB related and I suppose the touchpad might be part of it too sice it's usb (?).
The odd thing is that it worked all right in 2.6.14... anyone else experiencing this problem ? or maybe i'm the only one ?
