Krusader hangs when opening new directory

Whenever I change directories in Krusader it just displays an empty window (just the pane that I have tried to change directory in) with the busy mouse cursor.

Any ideas?

Using KDE 3.4.1 on a G4 PowerBook.

Does this happen even in relatively small directories? I'm thinking it has to do with memory and Krusader trying to display a bunch of files or folders all at once.
