When my laptop boots up and net.eth0 is run, dhcpcd sits there for like a minute before failing -- but I know nothing's wrong with my network.
- If I type ifconfig, lo shows up and that's it.
- If I type ifconfig eth0 up, my eth0 interface shows up without an IP.
- If I type dhcpcd eth0, it'll get its IP.
Then, all's good.
So in other words, that net.eth0 script is useless crap. How can I get it to work the first time? It's just plain annoying. |

No it isn't. One minute is the default timeout... it seems that your machine (dhcpcd) is not happy talking to a (the) DHCP server.
Can you post your config and tell us about the network environment and software versions? _________________ Cheers,
