after finishing a new install only root can access the internet. Users can access the local network, but not the internet. Any suggestions?

What's the method of accessing the Internet? Ethernet router, ADSL modem, standard phone-line modem? More details are needed. |

Sorry, I connect thru an ethernet router connected to a cable modem. I've never had this problem before, so I'm not really sure what's happening here.
