Hi,
I tried to get alsa working on my asus a7n8x deluxe, but i'm having some trouble.. I downloaded alsa-kernel, alsa-driver, alsa-lib and alsa-utils from CVS and all compiled without problems, but when i try to start the module for my sound I get these errors:
eme alsa-utils # modprobe snd-intel8x0
/lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o: unresolved symbol kernel_flag_cacheline
/lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o: insmod snd-intel8x0 failed
eme alsa-utils #
Anyone know what's going wrong here?? Is there something i'am missing?

Well, I am not sure about alsa, but I just used the sound support from the kernel and it worked without a problem (I used ac-sources and selected the (Intel ICH (i8xx), SiS 7012, NVidia nForce Audio or AMD 768) option). |

You didnt mention what version of alsa you are using, so I will note that you need to 1) find the patches for ALSA 2) use rc7, which works without the patches.
www.nforcershq.com has a forum with a space for linux. Not much traffic, but worth looking at. |
