I followed the instructions in this wiki to get hibernate to work
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Software_Suspend_v2
when I tested it I got this

Umm... I think we're going to need a bit more information. What kind of computer is it? What kernel is it running? What is the output of emerge --info? |

It says it failed to enter the ACPI state - from /etc/hibernate/hibernate.conf, what state is it entering? Don't use 3 - 4 generally works, but you can do a full poweroff instead with suspend2 if ACPI is causing problems. _________________ What are you, stupid? |
