|
|
I have had a functioning Qmail installation (using Vpopmail) for about 8 months now. Yesterday, the group I supported contacted me with a problem. The log shows multiple "Unable_to_chdir_to_maildir" problems. Nothing has changed on the server for nearly a month (when the server was hacked using an XSS exploit that did not affect email), and at that time I did reinstall Qmail. It worked find for the past three weeks.
I have googled for solutions.
1. Check the Vpopmail directories to ensure adequate permissions Done, permissions are okay
2. Reinstall Qmail Done, nope.
3. Are the mail directories in Vpopmail's home path? Yes, as per /etc/passwd
Any advise, tips would be greatly appreciated. I plod on.
UPDATE:
I did a complete install and reinstalled qmail, but the older version of qmail was still running. I had to kill each process then start the svscan.
I do not know what broke in the install, but it works. |
