I'm having a little trouble with getting freevo to work...when I try to launch it, the app fails with the following error message:
| Code: | Can't find all Python dependencies:
No module named utils
|
I have gone looking onthe forums, but I haven't been able to find anything useful. Anyone know what package this 'utils' module is part of?
Or is this some sort of PATH issue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Freevo doesn't work with python 2.4. It should be the pyxml extension, but I tried all combinations to get it to work.
On a related note, I am trying to get back to python 2.3, but without much success.
Masking python-2.4* and
| Code: | | python-updater -o 2.4 -n 2.3 |
doesn't work, as it still keeps stuff in 2.4.
EDIT:
oops, maybe need to check that both versions still were installed :>

same problem here due to pyxml. I also masked 2.4 AND unmerged it, now freevo is working again
edit: there is a new pyxml out. WHo is willing to test. |

Got it...it took a while to recompile everything, but it is working now.
Incidentally, it's been a long time since I last set up a freevo box, and I can't remember where the config setting is to change the resolution freevo displays at. The box is set up to display at 640x480 on the TV, but freevo seems to be doing 800x600.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
*edit* never mind, I've got it. |

It is working finally with python 2.4. You need pygame-1.6.2 and pyxml-0.8.4.
Upgrading python is a pain in the ass. |

I have got python 2.4.2, pygame-1.6.2 and pyxml-0.8.4 installed on my system. But freevo is still throwing out the same error:

When I try to emerge pythonutils emerge complains about a digest-error. It must be a broken ebuild since the error is still there after removing all distfiles and syncing.
Any ideas?
