help stoping firefox from playing background music

I have a friend who loves to put pretty bad emo music on all of her webpages and I have to look at them from time to time to help her with layouts and such. Everytime i go to a webpage that has sound tin the background thoughk, if i try to go off of it through a link, firefox crashes and the song keeps playing in the background even if i kill firefox-bin. It's really annoying is there anyway to tell firefox to just ignore background music on sites?

sigh, that and how do you tell it to not use a theme once you select one :oops:

I'm not sure this will work, but you can go to about:config and try setting accessibility.typeaheadfind.enablesound to false by double clicking on it. There are only two options with the word sound in them, none with alsa or arts. For no longer using a theme just go to tools, themes, unistall it, and restart firefox should do the trick.

that worked for the music but it wont uninstall a theme, i click uninstall and the theme stays.. :L

I just tried it and it worked for me. Did you close and reopen firefox?

yeah it works untill your on the last theme, it will uninstall extra themes except for one and then you are stuck using that theme

You can probably delete your profile at ~/.mozilla/firefox/*username and then just make a new one. I would try it for you but I really don't want to re-setup my profile.
