I found the answer on the VMWare discussion forums. For anyone else having this problem, it was a fairly easy fix which involved inserting one compile option into the Makefile.kernel files of both vmmon.tar and vmnet.tar. I've looked over the forums for my particular compile error, but wasn't able to find it. I'm trying to compile the vmplayer modules for kernel 2.6.16-rc1, and the errors I'm getting probably have something to do with the fact that I'm running a pre-release kernel, but I'd appreciate it if anyone had any ideas on how to get the vmmon.ko and other vmware modules to compile. Here's my error:

I'm not sure what the problem is. I've had no problem getting them to compile on 2.6.15. Any suggestions?
