Silly question, I'm shure I read this somewhere, but I can't find it.
After updateing apache2, I kept my old configs, but places for the apache config files have changed, so I want to take the new ones. I'm looking for the command to have again the chance of replacing the old one or better merging the two configs. Thanks |

Thanks, but that was not the problem, I need the new configuration files for /etc. A simple reemerge doesn't give the option to execute etc-update again to merge the configuration files and choose the right one. I know there is a command for this, but I can't remember. |

I posted that link because it is a howto, really you are going to want to manually work on your new config files, as far as I know there isn't any tool to automatically setup your apache for the new configuration. |

I was looking for the new configuration files which came with the last emerge of apache2. I dont't know where they are stored and how I can get them back, after having deleted them.
Meanwhile I deleted /etc/apache2/ and /etc/conf.d/apache and did a new emerge of apache and mods, so I got the new configuration files. I'm sure there is a better way to do that. |

If you delete files that come from an emerge, I don't know of another way to have emerge get them for you again, without emerging the whole package again.
If you just wanted some sample configs etc I'm sure the apache site itself has some.
The only real automatic way to download these files is to emerge the package, however. |
