Hi folks,
I currently have kde-3.4.2 installed. I installed by emerging kde-meta. I'm loving it.
Now I want to upgrade to 3.4.3, for which I see ebuilds have already hit the tree.
I did a comparison of the package.keywords changes I'd need to use from 3.4.2 to 3.4.3 and am not sure how I should handle packages for which there's no 3.4.3 ebuild. Should they be removed before I perform the upgrade, or should they stay in place? What can I read to make an informed decision for myself? The KDE release notes haven't helped.
To get a clear idea of what the issue is, check out http://phpfi.com/82331 . Note the entries that have been removed, e.g. kde-base/mimelib -- that means that there was a 3.4.2 ebuild for mimelib, but there's no 3.4.3 ebuild for it. Was it incorporated into / replaced by some other package? If so, I should remove it before the upgrade. If it just hasn't changed since 3.4.2, then I should leave it in place.
Any assistance in this regard would be much appreciated. I'd love to upgrade over the week-end.
PS: KDE rocks with prelinking. |
