|
|
I've been battling this for awhile and finally went for the gold and configured my Kernel from the ground up. I emerged Synaptics by unmasking the drivers. To make a long story short, I do a cat /dev/input/mice and get it to work. I open KDE and the mouse workes perfectly. I perform a reboot and then it does not work anymore. I try over and over and then I decided to emerge synaptics again. It then works again. Now, I rebooted my computer tonight and it does not work. Any ideas on what's going on?

Is the module for your touchpad loaded automatically on boot? |

Problem solved I guess. There is a button that is right above the touch pad that you can press to turn it off. If you turn it off, then thurn it back on the pad works. I have no clue why this is but hey, if it works, it works...
So if anyone has a question as to what it takes to get a Synaptics touchpad to work on a Compaq R3140US laptop.
emerge synaptics
Press the toggle button to turn it off, then turn it back on and it will work perfectly... |
