Hello,
Not so recently problem with networking started on my gentoo installation, at first I ignored it doing workaround all the time, but now its becoming annoyance. This is what happens:
When I connect to internet through modem I have to disable my network interface in order to be able to use modem connection. So every time I dialup I need to do /etc/init.d/net.eth0 stop to be able to use dialup connection.
Can someone suggest solution to this problem. I remember it all worked fine before, I think it something with portage or baselayout, also on bootup system is trying to mount already mounted swap and naturaly fails second time....
Any usefull advice? |

You really need to give us more info to work on... logs and error messages for a start.
Why do you have to down eth0 before connecting to the net? Could it be a routing problem? When eth0 is up all packets are routed to your LAN rather than out to the WWW?
As for your swap problem, we again need more info.
Sorry I can't help more.
