[Solved] Gentoo Installation - Easy Version?

Hi,

I'm new to Gentoo. I have been using Mandrake for the past couple of years. I am a bit scared of the non-GUI installer, so I was looking for alternate options. Basically, I want to install/try gentoo. If I like it, I want to work up to the stage 1 installation. I have found this site:

It includes a Gentoo live cd and a graphical installer. What does everyone think about it?

I don't think that cd/dvd has a graphical installer. There is a cd with an experimental graphical installer, but it is very... well... experimental. Better not use it. If you don't want to install the gentoo way, try another distribution like Ubuntu.

The GUI installer is broken.

Read the handbook a few times. If you have the space, you can use your existing install as the instal support platform.
The handbook is a guide, providing you understand it rather than copy it you will get on OK.
When you get stuck, you can ask here. The gentoo forums are really noob friendly.
