|
|
at last, a new ati-drivers version is in portage... 8.18.6
i'd love to get this one working, but for cloning my 1400x1050 t42p laptop panel i need:
Code: | Option "IgnoreEDID" "true" (or yes, 1, on) |
i can't use this option anymore. it's being ingnored.
this is essential to me, since my monitor, an excellent mitsubishi diamond plus 200 CRT, doesn't have 1400x1050 in its information table, which gets read by fglrx.
and then, aticonfig gets deleted by emerging ati-drivers-8.18.6:
Code: | rm -rf ${WORKDIR}/usr/X11R6/bin/{aticonfig,fglrx_pplay} |
why?
is there another way to set the correct modes. via modelines? i thought they were ignored, too.
anybody's help is appreciated.

I think there was a library-related problem with it, not sure of the details. Presumably it'll be installed by the ebuilds once it actually works. _________________ Per Ardua Ad Astra

no, i still don't know, why aticonfig is excluded from being build. well, it does get built, but is deleted afterwards, as far as a remember.
alas, i found a way to get my cloned crt desktop to work. i had to put a modeline into xorg.conf:
Code: | Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor1"
HorizSync 30-108
VertRefresh 50-160
Option "DPMS"
Modeline "1400x1050" 184 1400 1464 1656 1960 1050 1051 1054 1100 +HSync +VSync
EndSection
|
this gives me a nice 1400x1050 desktop @85Hz.
so modelines are still being interpreted...
