running 2.6.12r9 on 12" ibook
sleep/wake works perfectly while in fluxbox, however when in KDE sleep works but wake causes a system freeze.
Any idea what in KDE would cause that?
This happens with or without hald or airport; info found in other threads here doesn't seem to apply.
Thanks for any help |

ok more testing was done, and this is odd stuff:
So you know I can run fluxbox no problem -- sleep/wake works perfectly. Using KDE, wake crashes.
To try narrowing down the offending software component, I noted all the running processes while KDE was up, and compared them to all the processes while flux was up. Then I started adding the KDE elements one-by-one while in Flux, to see when sleep/wake would fail.
I can sleep wake with the following KDE software on, while in Flux -
dcopserver
kaccess
kwrapper ksmserver
ksmserver
kdesktop
kicker
klipper
korgac --miniicon korganizer
kio_file
which is basically everything in a typical KDE launch except -
startkde
kwin
those 2 I cant add cause flux is running, according to error messages. If I do a startkde from an xterminal in flux, ibook will crash again on wake as before after KDE launches.
the crashing happens after eth1 starts to come back up, but before the internal drive starts to spin, so maybe there's a dma thing going on?
I've tried this with diff kernels - several from 2.6.11,and 2.6.12 including r4 -- always the same issue. So it seems not to be kernel related?
Any ideas? There's no way I'm the only one with this problem!

I started with the forum solutions first (as initially noted), unfortunately, they didn't fix the wake issue.
However, after near 3+ days of compiling on the ol' 500mhz g3, I have an extremely functional kde 3.5beta2, working with sleep and wake!! It's quite excellent and appears to be stable atm.
