I am a former Mandrake user, and am fairly new at Gentoo Linux. I have been running Gentoo for about a month know, and still finding myself asking some.. well pretty basic questions that I feel I should already know. So I figured I would like to go to the book store, and get some books that would help me learn a little more about Gentoo. I noticed while I was there, that there are no Gentoo Linux books, (yet there are an over-cumbered amount of Redhat for dummies books), so I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction. I feel my weak points are ebuilds, portage, bash, and GCC. There are many other things that need a lot of work, but I guess a basic book for starters. Something to help understand more about Gentoo. Is there anything out there?

The Gentoo Docs are pretty good. The Gentoo Wiki has lots of good stuff as well. But the best place to learn about Gentoo is right here in the forums. There is a great community of developers and users who are willing to help. If you're having a problem, there's a really good chance that someone else has had the problem as well and may have even shared a solution. ebuilds/portage is pretty much a gentoo topic, and is discussed here a lot. Bash and gcc aren't as much, you'll need to look elsewhere for information spcific to those. A good place to start for bash might be http://del.icio.us/popular/bash. I don't work directly with gcc much, so can't help you there.
