I am trying to install gentoo from the 2005.1 minimal live cd on a machine with a via C3 processor. But, it continues to reboot it self... I can boot fine of a 2004.3 minimal. Can I install 2005.1 from the 2004.3 cd?
Any suggestions? I have disabled a lot of stuff on the kernel command line, but no good. The machine just keeps booting from the cd, and then rebooting itself when the kernel loads - over and over again |

Yes.
In fact, you don't need a Gentoo CD at all to install Gentoo (I frequently use a KNOPPIX CD). |
