Hi,
I have trouble with setting up a tiny home network.
I have an adsl router ( Barricade 7004 ABR ) which is connected to the internet and its ip is 192.168.1.1, one desktop (192.168.1.2) with a wired connection to the barricade router and a notebook with a wlan card.
Now I want to add another router (for wlan, it was free), a "FritzBox wlan 3020". I connect it via cable to the barricade.
My problem is that i don't know how to setup the addresses, routes and gateways.
The barricade is running a dhcp server. At the moment the fritzbox has the ip address 192.168.1.100 and it's wlan 192.168.2.1 with a turned on dhcp server(only wlan x.x.2.x).
Does this make sense?
What static route do I have to add in the fritzbox preferences? I can't connect the two subnets ( because i don't have the knowledge ).
Could you help me?
If you need additional information about the network/hardware feel free to ask. |

Not familiar with either your Barricade nor your Fritzbox but:
1. Barricade needs a static route for the 192.168.2.0/24 network to 192.168.1.100
2. Fritzbox already knows where the 192.168.1.0/24 network is.
3. Fritzbox needs to have its own "default gateway" set to 192.168.1.1
I suspect that you are missing 1. from the above. ie packets from the Fritzbox are hitting the Barricade and going wherever but the Barricade is unable to find the way back again with the "answer".

-The barricade setup has no menu for routes.
-The fritzbox setup has no menu for gateways...
.... only vice versa
another question:
what are these x.x.x.0/24 entries for ? |
