I'm thinking about moving to SATA, more specifically with the Sil3112 Chipset. How much support is there in Linux/Gentoo for this chipset? Support for the RAID function using this chipset? I'm trying to avoid some headaches with this. |

The Sil3112 controller is supported in the ac- kernel as of 2.4.20-ac1. It's also supported in the 2.4.21-pre series kernels. I'm pretty sure it's in the development-sources (2.5.x) kernels, too, but I don't know that any of the other source trees have it yet. |
