I have like 1 and a half weeks using SUSE 10, is the best desktop distro around (for my needs) but I'm coming back to gentoo, just for one single thing... the community, guys you are the best 
SUSE community is a cold n00b place where everybody has cuestions and no answers...
The SUSE documentation.... well maybe when you buy the boxed version....
I miss the discutions, the problems, the insults, the stupid polls, the ricer attitude... emerge life.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THE PEOPLE
PEOPLE IS WHAT MAKE GENTOO A GREAT DISTRO
NOT THE USE FLAGS NOR THE PACKAGE SYSTEM....

definitely what makes gentoo unique is the forums..the ppl and the support..
some distros, like the OP mentioned, a lot of their forums have unanswered threads cuz everyone asking questions and nobody knows answers, cuz majority dont know of these ppl are n00bs.
using gentoo for about 1.5 years i feel that i seem to know far more than i would had i gone with a distro like mandriva or whatever...
reason the gentoo forums are so vital to ppl is that we have a community with ppl who have tremendous knowledge and who like to help others..some other distros dont..
just what i think.. thats definitely the reason im with gentoo |

gentoo support + virtually any distro (not windows) = amazing linux experiance. people here dont just help with gentoo specific problems is what i mean, love you guys |
