Has anybody found a working wireless USB network card for amd64?

I have been searching a lot (a lot). But up until now I have not been able to find a well supported wireless (g standard) USB device that works with amd64. I did see a lot of devices that could work with ndiswrapper, but they need the windows XP64 drivers and most companies just don't offer those (netgear and d-link to name two of them).

If possible at all I don't want to use ndiswrapper. I would love to use a device that was 'designed for linux' tm and 'just works' tm ;-)

If there is choice: I would like to have it with a real antenna, like this one (anyone know if it works?)
If there is more choice: black colour would be nice.

Oh yeah and it should be USB since I need the PCI for my spiffy DVB card (I know I can get a spiffy USB DVB card as well, but hey I might opt for another soundcard. What there are USB soundcards as well?).

Thanks for any tips!

http://www.fsf.org/campaigns/hardware.html.

Seems that the linksys card is supported. No mention of amd64. Maybe someone can help out there and share some experiences?

Thanks.

ASUS WL-167g USB2.0 WLAN Adapter (pen-type)

Works ok, configuration issues here, but nothing too bad. Need to find a way to get my init script to use my wireless settings. Use an ugly hack now, but it works and it's stable.

Also, Asus has an open source driver provided by RaLink for this pen at: http://support.asus.com/ . Follow 'download' and enter 'wl-167g' and category 'drivers'. Version for a non-specific distribution (like Gentoo) is 2.0.4.0 at time of writing.

Thanks Stinger.

After a lot of looking around I went with the Linksys card mentioned above. As a nice feature it can pivot, just behind the usb connector, so you can really put it 'up in the air'. Works with ralink as well. Ralink seems to be the best supported chipset around for linux and 802.11g.

It has lost its connection a couple of times under very heavy load, but as you mention, nothing too serious.
