Hello,
I am curious as to whether anyone knows of an OS, either a version of linux or other, that will support the use of multiple motherboards..
Keep in mind that I am NOT talking about dual or quad cpu's, but more than one actual motherboard and all the peripheral stuff I can jam in there!!
There must be something available because mainframes run multiple motherbaords all the time.. Something that is hot swapable would be nice, but I'll take anything I can get..
Any help that anyone can offer, or even suggestions of where to find the answers I seek would be greatly appreciated!!!

reaver77,
You want a cluster - see openmosix
Hot pluggable hardware, is very expesive and has not made it to the PC desktop yet, unless you count firewire and USB.
Mainframes don't have motherboards. They have the equivelent of a passive backplane. Everything else plugs into that. Much like a PC on a card that plugs into a PCI or an ISA slot. _________________ Regards,

Computer users fall into two groups:-
those that do backups
those that have never had a hard drive fail. |
