I am having two problems.
The first is I have 1.5 gb of ram and I have enabled highmem support for up to 4gb in the kernel yet it doesn't seem to have taken affect and it's only using 882mb.
here's the output of free -m

My other problem is that I thought I had taken all the steps neccessary to get fglrx working but apparently not. The fglrx modules fails to load.

I have checked and double checked that my symbolic link in /usr/src/ is correct and it is.
The process I used to update the kernel is

Is there anything I am missing?
Also I am not sure if this affects high mem support or not but I had to set my kernel's stacks to 8 to use ndiswrapper. So kernel debugging is enabled. Could that be affecting high mem?

Highmem is not enabled in the kernel you're running... So assuming you configured Highmem correctly, that means you're not running the new kernel for some reason (not set correctly in grub, or /boot was not mounted when you copied the kernel...) |
