I emerged hpijs, and I'm trying to get a HP PSC 1510 printer set up, but when I attempt to access the cups setup at http://localhost:631, it does not load anything, I've verified that cups is installed, not sure what is causing this. |

Thanks, I'd been trying /etc/init.d/cups without the d. I got into the configuration and I'm prompted for the model/driver. The printer I have is a HP PSC 1510, which I believe it an InkJet, however the only models listed under CUPS are:
HP Color LaserJet Series
HP DeskJet Series
HP LaserJet Series
HP New DeskJet Series
Is there one in particular I'm supposed to choose that is compatible, I tried HP new DeskJet Series adn that didn't work, unless I chose the wrong usb port, it just listed USB #1 through USB#14, so I chose #1. |

Have you tried using this guide yet? It worked wonders for me.
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HPOJ_and_CUPS
I think you should see something a little more detailed about your printer in that menu in CUPS. Take a look at the ptal-init setup section to add your printer. |

I managed to get set up hpoj and when I configure the printer through cups, it shows the printers name and all inside the selection, but when I get to to the make / model it still only has teh options I listed above, the guide The WitePony showed me says this error has to do with hpijs and to make sure it was emerged, which I had already done. |

I have the driver installed and was able to successfully get it connected, but when I go to print a test page, it stops midway through the paper feed and displays in the terminal the error below:
Code: | ptal-mlcd: ERROR at ExMgr.cpp:3165, dev=<mlc:usb:PSC_1500_series@%003%007>, pid=31891, e=11, t=1130182178
llioSubprocess: llioWrite returns -110, expected=63!
|
I have to cancel the print job on the printer cause the CUPS administration already thinks the job completed, this happens with multiple progs when I try to print as well. |
