Hi,
Just started the installation (Rc2). According to the installation manual, I should verify that Gentoo has found my NIC. So I run "net-setup eth0". Choose "dhcp". Then "ifconfig"...just IO showing up here...so I guess Gentoo didnt catch my nic? Oh well, I havent got a clue what to call my NIC in "modprobe <mynic-name>"...
So I run "ls" in the "net" dir to see which modules are present. Nut none looks like my MIC
What to do now? Funny that a moderne OS didnt detect my NIC, its probably one of the most used Nics I guess...
Its a Intel Pro 10/100 pci card...
Please specify...how can I get past this trivial setup? Please be gentle Im a complete newbie...
Regards,
Supermule |

Do ifconfig
If eth0 shows up, then that's good news, if it doesn't.... Do ifconfig up eth0, if that works... GREAT, if it doesn't... well... _________________ Lego my ego, and I'll lego your knowledge
