hello
i have a 2 linux machines other is a 600mhz duron its my router/server. i have empty 40gb drive in there and im transferring some of my music there. which program would be the easyest and best for my needs. i just need the server to stream the music and is it possible to make a list of the music to internet site or something where i can choose the track to play or do i have to just select the track from the servers console? |

| Yep thats possible. Use icecast2 and mpd (http://www.musicpd.org/) with one of the available webfrontends. |

Give gnump3d a try. You might really like it! I've been using mine for at least a year or so, and it streams mp3s, oggs, etc. with a very easy, nice web frontend running on a separate port, and a great config file that is easy to understand and tweak.

How ? I mean OK, it shoudl work but I have no idea of the functionning of icecast and MPD's is very vague .... |
