hey guys,
i got an extension cable for my monitor and i guess it wasnt the greatest cable cause it was only 10' and im getting ghosting/streaking/shadow kind of thing. i know theres a bunch of little tweaking things you can do with xorg.conf. is there anything to adjust that would negate this effect? i remember readint that it was caused by some mismatch with impedences.
Thanks,

Your cable is most likely degrading the video signal and/or allowing cross-talk between the various wires. I doubt that tweaking xorg.conf will make any difference.
I had the same problem with a cheap cable at work (where we used Win2k). I ended up rearranging my cube so that I didn't need it. There was only one high quality cable in my area, and my manager was using it. (I used it one night to be sure that the cheap cable was the problem) |
