As the title suggests, emerging courier-authlib fails on me with the following error message:
Code:

/usr/bin/i686-pc-linux-gnu-nm: libmisc.a: File format not recognized

make: *** [all] Error 2

!!! Compile problem

Searching the bug database i've found bug 81605 that seemed to be close to my error. However i'm running on x86 not amd64 and it has nothing to do with -fPIC.
I've also found an indication to use --disable-shared, however the forum was in russian and I couldn't understand anything else.

Has anybody else faced this problem? Should I open a bug or is it something I'm missing here?
Output for emerge info follows:

Code:

Thank you for posting a solution, and marking your post solved. I was stumped, and it worked for me too.
