|
|
Hi,
I'm installing the latest gentoo version on an x86 platform. Well, I roughly followed the installing steps given in online documentation when, at step 6.a, the environment update fails (command env-update after chroot). The critical error message is: "/usr/bin/python: error while loading shared libraries /lib/libutil.so.1: invalid ELF header"
As a result, the rest of the installing fails and especially the bootstrap... How can I solve this problem ?[/b]
Well, I'm not an expert in Linux ....
thx for your help

... Thus, I've rebooted the pc and I ve installed stage2 from another mirror (ok). Now, I'm installing the portage pack (the same one). hum, the system now freezes during the uncompressing process. the problem is a busy irq, thus causing a fatal error (infinite loop). The message is:
"ide: failed opcode was: unknown
ide0: reset: success
hda: irq timeout: status=0xd2 {Busy}
"
SO, I ' M LOST !!!! plz for some help.....
thx |

ok, after a good night, I may find the source of the problem.
After perfoming a checking of the HDD in hda3, e2fsck has found several bad clusters or (inodes ?) causing a segmentation fault...
So, I'm trying to repair it or I'll change it.... |
