I have a problem in automounting a firewire driver on gnome 2.12 with kernel 2.6.14.
With the new kernel, usb drive was mounted automatically without problem.
If i don't use gvm, or mount the firewire device manually, it works well.
Is there any workaround for automounting on the gnome 2.12.1 and kernel 2.6.14?
My udev version is 071, gvm 1.5.3, hal 0.5.4, and dbus 0.36.2

Hello,

same here.
it seems to be a stupid bug, but I really don't know where to search.

I use kde 3.5 and hal/pmount and have this problem since upgrading to 2.6.14.

I tested various setups: gentoo-, mm-, vanilla-sources, all in 2.6.14-r* and the newer 2.6.15* versions.
All combinations of dbus/hal which are in portage.
But always with the same problem: The devices are made, but they aren't recognised in kde through dbus/hal/pmount.

I have no problems with usb, only firewire.

Executing:
Code:
hald --daemon=no --verbose=yes

shows: the firewire-devices are recognised by hal.

This problem doesn't appear under kernel-2.6.13-r*.
But this doesn't help me, because my system (opteron, 3ware-sata) is very unstable under 2.6.13.

Help would be really appreciated
greetings Andreas

P.s if you need more output please post.
