I booted a 2005.1 LiveCD, but it failed to detect my on-board Ethernet, which works fine under Mac OS X Tiger. I didn't see it in the lspci output.
My Atheros-based PCMCIA Wi-Fi card was found (I run it under OS X with the OrangeWare drivers, if you're curious), but it wasn't usable; do I need to 'emerge madwifi' before the card will be usable, or is a module available on the LiveCD? |

Try for the ethernet, I think that's the right network card for that machine. Also, check dmesg to see if there were any errors from the driver after starting.
As for the wifi card, I'm not sure if we included drivers for that model on the LiveCD, but I don't think so. _________________ Gentoo PPC FAQ: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-ppc-faq.xml |
