|
|
Hi
During a emerge -uD world at the kernel source unpacking, a few errors displayed that the files can't be written.
I decided to do a reboot, after that the fsck says that the filesystem is corrupt. I decided to do a fsck.ext3 -y /dev/hda4.
After that I restarted the system and now I can't login because some pam_libs are missing.
Is there any chance to repair my system without reinstalling it?

You could boot the install live cd and enter the chroot environment. Then you could try to revdep-rebuild (from gentoolkit) to see if that fixes things. If portage is screwed up, while in the chroot, you need to follow the instructions in /usr/portage/sys-apps/portage/files/README.RESCUE. |

Hi
Yes, the Livecd and revdep-rebuild does the trick. I only needed to emerge pam-login and all borken thing are gone!
Thx!
