Hi
During a emerge -uD world at the kernel source unpacking, a few errors displayed that the files can't be written.
I decided to do a reboot, after that the fsck says that the filesystem is corrupt. I decided to do a fsck.ext3 -y /dev/hda4.
After that I restarted the system and now I can't login because some pam_libs are missing.
Is there any chance to repair my system without reinstalling it?

| You could boot the install live cd and enter the chroot environment. Then you could try to revdep-rebuild (from gentoolkit) to see if that fixes things. If portage is screwed up, while in the chroot, you need to follow the instructions in /usr/portage/sys-apps/portage/files/README.RESCUE. |

Hi
Yes, the Livecd and revdep-rebuild does the trick. I only needed to emerge pam-login and all borken thing are gone!
