When I run "env-update" it just says :
---------------------------------------------------
"import site failed; use -v for traceback
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/sbin/env-update", line 3, in ?
import portage
ImportError: No module named portage"
-----------------------------------------------------
I use stage 1
Why , and whats wrong ???   |

I had a very similar problem when installing under an existing Suse installation. I got round it using
| Code: | | env -i chroot /mnt/gentoo /bin/bash |
rather than
| Code: | | chroot /mnt/gentoo /bin/bash |
to ignore any environment stuff. It seemed to work. |
