Posted: Mon Oct 31, 2005 5:17 pm Post subject: bootstrap uses default CFLAGS [SOLVED] |
|
|
While bootstrapping, I noticed that, at first, the bootstrap script was using my customized CFLAGS ( ie "-O3 -msse -msse2 -mfpmath=sse,387 -march=pentium4 -pipe" But after a while , it seeemed to use a different one (ie "-O2 -march=pentium4" or something like that, which is probably used in order to compile some packages). Then it told me that it would use the default CFLAGS , considering that my customized one was missing. It told me that it was probably caused by switching between the different CFLAGS configurations. So I aborted the bootstrap by using (sob) CTRL+C. What should I do correct this *bug* ? Should I forbid writing on /etc/make.conf during the bootstrap ? Thanks for your answers.

Which package was it compiling ?
post your /etc/make.conf relevant section ie CFLAGS CXXFLAGS CHOST.
Also you have to know some package disable custom cflags for safety (for example kernel sources). |

It's not a bug. Some packages simply can't be built with certain flags, so these are filtered out. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered
