So distros like Knoppix do a pretty good job of detecting hardware and loading the appropriate modules, is there anyway to have a live cd write a kernel config or give you enough information to create your own? lsmod obviously can help but I was wondering if there was an easier way. |

once you boot from the live cd, try this
Code: |
zcat /proc/config.gz > .config
|
to get an initial config and tweak it from there. _________________ Power is about what you can control. Freedom is about what you can unleash. |
