Nethack Help

I have no idea whats going on in this game. I've looked on the net and the man pages and none if it really helps. I don't know any keys or what the little signs mean on the "map"

In game, press ? to look at the help, and press / if you want to have info on an unknown object.

That should be sufficient to begin, the rest must be learned by playing (and dying) a lot.

It can be a bit odd to those who haven`t seen games like this before and I'm sure a lot of people are turned off by how immediately inaccessable it is. It is however, an extremely rewarding game once you learn it and can easily get an obsessive grip on you. A quick google will have you finding beginners guides and tips.

Stick with it. If you didn't understand the help just keep reading it over and over again until it seems to make sense!

Probably the most played game on my system, really should make better use of an AMD64...
